On 17 September 2025, our Principals Melinda Wen Gao and Xiaonan (Nancy) Wang proudly represented W & G Lawyers at the first workshop of the Chamber Change Program, hosted by Business Chamber Queensland at their Brisbane headquarters.
This free professional development series, supported by the Australian and Victorian Chambers of Commerce and the Federal Government, is designed to empower Queensland businesswomen with leadership training, networking, and mentoring opportunities.
Key Takeaways from the First Session
- You’re not alone – Many women entrepreneurs have faced similar challenges. Mentorship and shared experiences can provide guidance, encouragement, and perspective.
- Wearing multiple hats – Business leaders often juggle many responsibilities. Making a conscious effort to stay present in each moment helps prevent burnout.
- Live life full, but don’t blow it up! – Pursue growth and opportunities with passion, but also maintain balance and sustainability.
The workshop featured inspiring insights from Georgie Somerset AM (Chair, Royal Flying Doctor Service QLD; Deputy Chair, ABC) and Sarah Kirk (Director, Business Chamber Queensland), who shared their journeys of resilience and purpose-driven leadership.
We thank the organisers, speakers, and participants for such an inspiring event, and we look forward to joining the next two workshops on 7 October and 5 November 2025.
